Send Flowers to Valledupar, Colombia

Valledupar is the capital of Cesar in northern Colombia, a hot inland city at the foot of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, crossed by the Río Guatapurí. It is the capital of vallenato music and hosts the Festival de la Leyenda Vallenata every April. Vallenatos living abroad send flowers to mothers, grandparents and partners at home for birthdays, anniversaries and condolences.

Colombia celebrates the Día de la Madre on the second Sunday of May, and in Valledupar the day is marked with serenades and flowers. The vallenato festival in late April brings families together and is a lovely moment to send a bouquet. For funerals, friends send wreaths to the velación, and the family holds novena prayers over the following days.

Order before midnight Colombian time and delivery takes place the next day in Valledupar. Include the recipient's phone number so the florist can call ahead and reschedule if nobody is home. Roses, lilies, mixed bouquets and plants are usually available; in the hot climate the florist may propose a close equivalent if a particular flower is not stocked.
