Send Flowers to Villavicencio, Colombia

Villavicencio is the capital of Meta, the gateway to Colombia's eastern plains, about three hours from Bogotá down the mountain road. It is a hot, lively city of cattle ranches, joropo music and mamona barbecue, and the base for exploring the Llanos. Villavicenses living abroad send flowers to mothers, grandparents and partners for birthdays, anniversaries and times of mourning.

Colombia's Día de la Madre falls on the second Sunday of May and is the busiest day of the year for florists in Villavicencio. The Torneo Internacional del Joropo in June brings the city together with music and dance, and families often celebrate with flowers. When a relative dies, friends send wreaths to the velación and accompany the family during the novena.

Order before midnight local time for next-day delivery in Villavicencio. The recipient's phone number is required so the florist can call ahead and reschedule if nobody is home. Roses, lilies, mixed bouquets and plants are generally available; in the plains climate the florist may suggest a close equivalent if a particular flower is not stocked.
